I’m Alison Bridgeman, and have been running the group for four years, slowly we are evolving, and establishing ourselves, and starting from January 18 we have a committee! There is just so much to do and so little time. We hire the ceramics studio at the Kings Road campus of Reading college, from 10 am until 2pm each Saturday. The group consists of experienced potters and sculptors as well as beginners. We each help one another, the atmosphere is light and friendly and we enjoy a healthy amount of homemade cake 😊
The club books the studio in four week blocks, costing £80 per block per person. Here are the dates up until the summer of 2018.
◽️6th, 13th, 20th, 27th January 18
◽️3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th February 18
◽️3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th March 18
🐣Easter break
Please let me know what you would like to book. We like cash upfront, please email [email protected]
You will have access to the electric wheels and we have help with our throwing from a local potter Pete Colwill. We are very interested in making glazes and trying out different firing techniques, including Raku, smoke and pit firing. As a group we have a huge interest to learn new skills.
Saturday Ceramics is not connected to the college and there are no qualifications offered, nor do we teach as such. We simply produce our own work and rent the space and the facilities. If you would like to come and join Saturday Ceramics please email [email protected]
